‍WFMT is pleased to offer 10 Student Scholarships for the 2026 World Congress of Music Therapy (WCMT)! Each scholarship includes one full-time participation early bird student registration for July 7-12, 2026.

Eligibility and application process for students

Eligibility for students
Applicants must be current undergraduate or graduate students of an approved music therapy program in their countries of study during the 2025-2026 calendar year. No preference is given to full-time student applicants over part-time student applicants. Student interns are considered eligible, provided that their enrollments in their music therapy programs are still active.

‍Application process for students
‍Please fill out the student scholarship application form and submit it online. Each application must include the following:

  • a narrative (300-500 words in English) discussing: (a) involvement in music therapy student organizations or student leadership within the program of study; (b) how the applicant would like to contribute to the development of global music therapy; (c) what the applicant hopes to learn at the 2026 WCMT; and (d) how the applicant intends to fund travel, accommodation, and living expenses to attend the 2026 WCMT;
  • a letter from the applicant’s music therapy program director verifying student status during the 2026 calendar year.

Italian Association of Music Therapy – AIM is pleased to offer 10 Professional Scholarships for the 2026 World Congress of Music Therapy (WCMT)! Each scholarship includes one full-time participation early bird professional registration for July 7-12, 2026.

Eligibility and application process for professionals

Eligibility for professionals
Applicants must be current a WFMT Individual Membership or Professional Member of WFMT Full Organizational Member Association.

‍Application process for professionals
Please fill out the professional scholarship application form and submit it online. Each application must include the following:

  • WFMT Individual Professional Member Certificate or verification of Professional Membership in a WFMT Full Organizational Member Association;
  • a narrative (max. 750 words in English) discussing: (a) involvement and contribution in music therapy professional organizations; (b) how the applicant would like to contribute to the development of global music therapy; (c) what the applicant hopes to learn at the 2026 WCMT; and (d) how the applicant intends to fund travel, accommodation, and living expenses to attend the 2026 WCMT;
  • a letter of reference from a professional colleague.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Application deadline

‍All entries must be received by July 31, 2025 at 11:59 pm (EST). Late and incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Selection process

‍All completed and timely applications will be reviewed. Members of the WFMT Council will select the winners.

Announcement of recipients

‍The recipients will be determined and contacted by September 25, 2025 and announced at the 2026 WCMT.

Recipient's agreement

‍Recipients agree to write a report about their Congress experiences for publication in Window to the World on the WFMT website

What's included

Please note the scholarship covers early bird registration fees only. Each award recipient must make her or his own arrangements for travel, food, and accommodations.
